Viessmann not only supplies industrial/commercial boilers but also assists with large-scale projects in the megawatt range. One example is the complete modernization of the Altchemnitz district heating plant. After 40 years of operation, the plant, owned by the energy utility eins energie in sachsen , required a complete overhaul. Three Viessmann double-fire-tube boilers were commissioned at the end of 2018 and now supply up to 100,000 kilowatts to the district heating network depending on demand, helping to provide heating and hot water to approximately 40 percent of Chemnitz households.
