Scope of application

Low-energy homes, passive houses, or Minergie houses often have controlled mechanical ventilation due to their sealed design. Controlled mechanical ventilation and combustion equipment can operate simultaneously without additional safety equipment if the combustion equipment operates as a sealed system within the room. If combustion equipment with an open flue is used in homes with ventilation systems, country-specific regulations must be observed. For example, in Germany, special measures must be taken in accordance with Section 4, Section 2 of the Combustion Equipment Ordinance: the ventilation system must not create a high negative pressure in the room where the appliance is installed, which could impair the appliance’s operation and even lead to flue gas leakage. The wodtke DS01 L differential pressure regulator is a TÜÜV-tested safety device with General Building Regulation approval. It enables the simultaneous operation of ventilation systems and open-flue equipment. The DS01 L combines advanced electronics, software and precision mechanics.
