Vitomax HW high-pressure hot water boilers with a capacity from 0.35 to 20.0 MW for industry

Hydrogen up to 100 percent

In chemical production, such as chlorine production and other industrial processes, much of the hydrogen gas is wasted and released into the atmosphere. Vitomax boilers, which can operate on 100% hydrogen with the appropriate burner, offer a cost-effective and efficient solution. At the same time, significant amounts of climate-damaging CO2 emissions are avoided .

Product Features

Vitomax HW high-pressure hot water boilers meet all new legislative requirements for ultra-clean combustion. The efficiency of these boilers with a heat exchanger exceeds 95.5 percent, even at full load.

Regardless of fuel used, the Vitomax HW delivers output of up to 20.0 MW. It is specifically designed for the manufacturing industry, as well as local and district heating networks, where high temperatures and flow pressures are required.

The low-load, compact design ensures good natural circulation and reliable heat transfer. No additional boiler pumps are required, significantly simplifying the hydraulic connection. The Vitomax HW can be flexibly operated with light or heavy fuel oil, bio-oil, or even (bio)natural gas.

Vitomax boilers feature an innovative burner entry point that eliminates the use of concrete. This means it is water-cooled and wear- and maintenance-free, eliminating the need for replacement during the boiler’s service life. Water cooling ensures a constant temperature around the burner head, eliminating the usual reflection from the refractory lining (which causes thermal NOx formation).

The Vitomax HW’s burner inlet and rear flue gas reversing chamber are water-cooled. This means the flue gas energy is used exclusively for hot water production.

All Vitomax HW high-pressure hot water boilers are suitable for burning up to 100% hydrogen, subject to our general conditions for the use of H2 .

The distances between the individual flue pipes, as well as from the flue pipes to the boiler body and fire tube, comply with legal requirements. Therefore, the shear stress on the end caps caused by the differential linear expansion of the smoke tubes and fire tube is extremely low. This design guarantees a long service life for the Vitomax HW.

Like all other Vitomax boilers, the Vitomax HW is equipped with sufficient inspection and access ports for essential internal checks. This allows Vitomax high-pressure hot water boilers to offer the longest possible intervals between inspections. Easy-to-open boiler doors and a cleaning door at the end of the boiler also ensure easy maintenance and contribute to low operating costs.
