Viessmann electric boilers – purely electric, energy efficient and clean burning
For industrial applications, it’s important for boilers to provide energy with energy-efficient and clean combustion. Furthermore, high operational reliability and availability must be ensured. Viessmann’s efficient energy systems deliver precisely these qualitiesânow also in the form of all-electric boilers for industrial applications. Our portfolio includes components and systems designed to work together seamlessly. This not only provides an economical and future-proof solution, but also allows for use in a wide range of applications. Finally, companies pay lower emissions taxes, as the Vitomax HS-E produces no COx or NOx emissions in its flue gases.
What are the characteristics of the Vitomax HS-E electric boiler?
Viessmann electric boilers are primarily characterized by the fact that they use only electricity to generate steam. This offers numerous advantages â not only in terms of climate protection due to the elimination of fossil fuels, but also in terms of cost.
Compared to traditional boilers, the Viessmann electric boiler offers a number of advantages, particularly when it comes to time savings. Among other things, it enables faster cold starts, as the burner startup time is no longer required. Furthermore, system operators benefit from the electric boiler’s faster recovery from standby mode and improved electrical heat retention.
But the electric boiler also scores points in terms of operation, not just the processes themselves. Particularly impressive is its peak load compensation and wide normal operating range. This allows for better management of partial load reductions. The Vitomax HS-E can also be used as a backup boiler. This increases supply reliability in industrial applications. If fossil fuel boilers fail, ongoing processes don’t necessarily have to be interrupted. In this case, the electric boiler can be optimally used as an intermediate unit. The electric boiler’s high efficiencyâover 99 percentâis particularly impressive.
Benefits – cost and space savings
The Viessmann electric boiler is also cost-effective. Since fuel is not required, there is no need for a fuel storage tank, fuel supply lines, or burners. This saves money and reduces the space required in the boiler room. Another advantage of the Vitomax HS-E is the elimination of the need for flue gas systems, as the absence of fuel combustion eliminates the formation of environmentally harmful flue gases. Consequently, the smaller footprint and significantly lower weight compared to traditional boilers are further advantages. Furthermore, the actual operating costs of an electric boiler can be reduced by using cheaper electricity. You can use either nighttime electricity or surplus electricity generated independently.
How does the Vitomax HS-E function in terms of energy consumption?
The Viessmann electric boiler utilizes excess electrical energy, allowing it to utilize peak power generation in an environmentally and cost-effective manner. The heating cartridge converts the electrical energy into heat, which is then used to generate steam. The heating cartridge is a flanged heater attached to the boiler via a connector, compliant with current DIN standards. Wall thicknesses of up to 2.1 millimeters ensure high resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress. Depending on customer requirements, heating cartridge immersion lengths of up to 4.5 meters are available.
Significance for the energy transition
An electric boiler for industrial use allows you to take a step toward energy transition. This system utilizes the power-to-heat principle, using electricity to generate steam and heat. The growing share of renewable energy sources, especially wind and solar, in the electricity grid can be efficiently utilized in this way.
This already puts you on a more climate-friendly path and guarantees a future systemic solution. The Paris Agreement clearly states that global warming must not exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius. This goal can only be achieved if private and public investment contributes to its implementation.
