Vitomax HS – ideal for industrial use

The Vitomax HS steam boiler complies with Category IV of Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, with a permissible operating pressure of 6 to 30 bar. It is used in industries such as food, fertilizer, construction materials, paper, beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical, hospitals, and refineries, where steam is used as a process, propellant, or reaction medium.

Hydrogen up to 100 percent

In chemical production, such as chlorine production and other industrial processes, much of the hydrogen gas is wasted and released into the atmosphere. Vitomax boilers, which can operate on 100% hydrogen with the appropriate burner, offer a cost-effective and efficient solution. At the same time, significant amounts of climate-damaging CO2 emissions are avoided .

Product Features

Vitomax HS high-pressure steam boilers meet all legal requirements for clean combustion. The efficiency of these boilers with an economizer exceeds 95.5 percent, even at full load.

Regardless of fuel used, the Vitomax HS delivers up to 31.5 tons of steam per hour. It is specifically designed for process industries where steam is required continuously. Thanks to its large evaporator with integrated steam dryer, the key feature is high-quality steam with low residual moisture. The Vitomax HS can operate flexibly with light or heavy fuel oil, bio-oil, or even (bio)natural gas.

Vitomax boilers feature an innovative burner entry point that eliminates the use of concrete. This means it is water-cooled and wear- and maintenance-free, eliminating the need for replacement during the boiler’s lifespan. Water cooling ensures a constant temperature in the burner head—the usual reflection from the refractory lining (which causes thermal NOx formation ) is eliminated.

The Vitomax HS’s burner inlet and rear flue gas reversing chamber are water-cooled. Therefore, flue gas energy is used exclusively for steam generation.

All Vitomax HS high pressure steam boilers are suitable for firing up to 100% hydrogen, provided our H2 usage guidelines are met .

The distances between the individual flue pipes, as well as from the flue pipes to the boiler body and fire tube, comply with legal requirements. Therefore, the shear stress on the end caps caused by the differential linear expansion of the smoke tubes and fire tube is extremely low. This design guarantees a long service life for the Vitomax HS.

To facilitate maintenance and repairs, like all other Vitomax boilers, the Vitomax HS is equipped with sufficient inspection and access ports for essential internal checks. This allows Vitomax high-pressure steam boilers to offer the longest possible intervals between inspections. Easy-to-open boiler doors and a cleaning door at the end of the boiler also ensure easy maintenance and contribute to low operating costs.
