Vitocal 200-A – air source heat pump for indoor installation
Energy-efficient construction requires specialized heating technology to meet legal requirements for building envelopes. The Vitocal 200-A modulating air-source heat pump is designed for this purpose, achieving flow temperatures of up to 60°C with an intake air temperature of 5°C. On hot summer days, it can also operate in reverse to cool rooms.
The advantages of the Vitocal 200-A at a glance
The Vitocal 200-A air-source heat pump for indoor installation has an extremely compact design. Measuring just 700 x 800 mm in width and length, it takes up very little space. Its monoblock technology allows for easy handling and quick installation. Furthermore, a variable-speed fan and compressor with multiple anti-vibration mounts ensure low operating noise. Last but not least, it can be optimally combined with a mechanical ventilation unit, providing both heat and fresh air.
Optimal space utilization and efficient heating technology are particularly important in new buildings. The Vitocal 200-A for indoor installation combines both aspects in a compact unit. It incorporates an energy-saving, highly efficient pump, an electronic expansion valve, and a performance-controlled compressor, all of which are perfectly matched. Furthermore, since the Vitocal 200-A heat pump operates extremely quietly thanks to its sound-insulated design, it can be installed and operated directly next to living spaces without any hesitation. If required, the air-source heat pump can be switched to night mode, reducing noise levels to a minimum. Detailed information can be found in the section ” Air-Source Heat Pumps and Sound .”
The Vitocal 200-A for indoor installation operates particularly economically in part-load mode. This allows the unit to fully utilize the advantages of its inverter-controlled compressor. By varying its speed, the compressor adjusts the heat pump’s output to the building’s heating demand, saving energy and ensuring the highest possible seasonal performance factor. Variable speed control, an energy-saving, highly efficient heating circuit pump, and a DC fan also contribute to economical operation.
The Vitocal 200-A achieves energy efficiency class A++ for heating in accordance with Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 811/2013 â for both low-temperature applications of 35°C and medium-temperature applications of 55°C. This efficiency is also reflected in a high COP according to standard EN 14511: up to 4.8 at an air temperature of 7°C and a water temperature of 35°C, or 3.8 at an air temperature of 2°C and a water temperature of 35°C.

Heating and cooling – using electricity from the photovoltaic system, if installed
The Vitocal 200-A is optimized for solar energy. This is particularly cost-effective when used with self-generated photovoltaic energy. During summer, solar modules produce large amounts of electricity, which is often unusable in the home. This energy would otherwise have to be exported to the public grid for a small fee. The Vitocal 200-A can use excess solar energy on-site, for example, to cool the building.
