Gas condensing boilers offer an attractive price-performance ratio and compact design. Using the latest heating technology, they achieve standard seasonal efficiencies (DIN) of up to 98 percent. This is made possible, in part, by the Inox-Radial stainless steel heat exchanger. It is distinguished by its durability and high efficiency. We at Viessmann can vouch for this. That's why all stainless steel heat exchangers come with a 10-year warranty against corrosion-related leaks. To take advantage of this warranty, all boilers purchased after 01/04/2018 must be registered within the first six months after commissioning. The warranty also requires a maintenance contract, regular maintenance, and full documentation of this work.
Another common feature of Vitodens products is that they all operate at low fan speed. This ensures extremely quiet operation and means that wall-mounted boilers such as the Vitodens 300-W or Vitodens 200-W no longer need to be confined to the basement, but can be installed in a bathroom, utility room, or even a kitchen cabinet.
All Viessmann Vitodens heating systems share a common combustion controller for all gas types—Lambda Pro Control or its improved version, Lambda Pro Control Plus. This ensures consistently high efficiency even with fluctuating gas quality, switching to a different gas type, or changing operating conditions. The Viessmann Vitodens condensing boiler continues to maximize available energy use.
The air-to-air ratio (lambda)—the gas-to-air ratio—is measured using an ionization electrode. Based on the measurement results, the automation adjusts the air supply to ensure an ideal gas-to-air mixture. This eliminates the need for adjustments or readjustments during installation. This operating method not only makes Vitodens products highly efficient, but Lambda Pro Control Plus also ensures a high level of operational reliability. Furthermore, flue gas test intervals have been extended from two to three years.
Important : The Vitodens product range is suitable for use with a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas. Hydrogen content of up to 20 percent is permitted.
The Vitodens 200 series models are economical condensing heating systems suitable for both low and high heating needs. The Vitodens 200-W is a gas condensing storage combi boiler that fits neatly into a kitchen cabinet. The Vitodens 222-W is a wall-mounted gas condensing boiler, additionally equipped with an integrated cylinder for fast and flexible domestic hot water supply. Viessmann also offers floor-standing models: the Vitodens 222-F (with cylinder) and the Vitodens 242-F, which can be directly integrated with a solar thermal system.
The Vitodens 200 series is powered by the MatriX-Plus burner, which is highly rated for its efficient operation and low emissions and noise. Additionally, the Vitodens 200-W, 222-W, 222-F, and 242-F feature a 3.5-inch black-and-white display with text and graphics, as well as a built-in WiFi interface. This allows the heating system to be controlled via the ViCare app.
The Vitodens 300 models range in output from 11 to 32 kilowatts. They are particularly suitable for new buildings with low heating requirements. One of the units in this series is the Viessmann Vitodens 300-W, a compact wall-mounted boiler that recently won the Design Plus Award and iF Award. Its floor-standing counterpart is the Vitodens 333-F, with an integrated 100-liter stainless steel loading cylinder. The Vitodens 343-F completes the lineup, additionally featuring direct connection for a solar thermal system, capable of providing not only a significant portion of the DHW but also backup central heating.
All models in this series are equipped with a MatriX-Plus burner. It provides a modulation range of up to 1:17 with maximum flame stability. For example, a 32 kW boiler modulates down to 1.9 kW. This allows for optimal matching of output to current demand without the need for constant burner restarts. As a result, the frequency of cycles is reduced. This not only ensures maximum efficiency and very low fuel consumption, but also reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by 40 percent. Furthermore, the burner technology increases boiler runtime, reduces the load on other components, and thereby improves overall operational reliability.
Another distinctive feature of the Vitodens 300 series is its exceptional ease of use, demonstrated, for example, by the energy cockpit, which allows you to see all consumption data at a glance, integrated WiFi interfaces for web access via ViCare, and a 7-inch color touchscreen. This allows you to manage your heating yourself via ViCare. However, you can also leave heating control in the hands of a contractor. They can use Vitoguide to quickly identify any maintenance needs or even malfunctions. It can even be operated remotely using tools. Once the boilers are connected, the five-year Viessmann warranty comes into effect.
