This allows you to use the sun's readily available energy to heat water for daily use and to heat your living spaces. By integrating solar thermal energy into your heating system, you can cover approximately 60 percent of your annual hot water heating needs and 20-30 percent of your heating needs. Hot water cylinders store drinking and heating water heated by the connected heating system and provide it as needed. Effective thermal insulation ensures energy savings and a high level of comfort for residents. A variety of designs and sizes make Viessmann Vitocell hot water cylinders versatile. If space is limited, cylinders can be installed under the boiler, providing sufficient space for a condensing boiler above. For higher demand, however, floor-standing Viessmann hot water cylinders are ideal.
Viessmann heating water buffer tanks ensure the efficient operation of your heating system. They store excess heat for future use. If your heating system is integrated with a solar thermal system, this type of tank is indispensable. It allows you to utilize thermal energy even when the sun isn't shining. With a multi-mode Viessmann buffer tank, you can store not only heat from your solar thermal system but also heat from other heat generators. When combined with a fresh water module, it can also be used for domestic hot water heating.
With the addition of a freshwater module, the water heating buffer tank can also supply domestic hot water. The combination of these two components thus offers an alternative to a traditional DHW cylinder. Since water is heated only as needed, using the instantaneous hot water principle, it is particularly hygienic. Viessmann Vitotrans freshwater modules are pre-assembled, compact units that are easily mounted on a wall or directly on the buffer tank. Optimally coordinated components ensure a constant water temperature, even with varying water flow rates.

Decentralized electric hot water systems provide hot water on demand. This ensures high levels of convenience, hygiene, and low energy costs. Furthermore, since the systems are connected very close to the draw-off points, heat loss from the piping is prevented. This makes electric hot water heating energy efficient. While instantaneous water heaters heat small volumes of water with precision down to the degree, small and wall-mounted storage water heaters accommodate slightly larger volumes.
