Viessmann: A company with tradition and a vision for the future

For four generations, Viessmann has been helping to improve people's quality of life with innovative technologies – first with heat. In the meantime, the family-owned company has evolved from a manufacturer of heating appliances to a provider of intelligent heating and energy solutions. However, technological progress is not the only goal of Viessmann. Sustainable thinking and action are also firmly embedded in the company's values. In this way, Viessmann helps to create and preserve living spaces for future generations.

The Viessmann family is large and international

From Allendorf to the whole world. Since its founding in 1917, Viessmann has continuously developed as a company. Today, it is a large family with more than 13,000 members in 74 countries. Together with partners from various industries, our members work every day to meet the ever-changing needs of customers and to change the energy supply in such a way that it is sustainable.

Living and implementing sustainable development

As a family-owned company with more than 100 years of history, Viessmann focuses on long-term goals. For example, when it comes to one of the greatest challenges of our time - the energy transition. The heating market offers enormous potential for energy savings. As part of this market, Viessmann is aware of its responsibility. One of the goals is to actively shape the transformation of the industry and stimulate the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energies. This is reflected in the company's product range as well as in other areas.

Combining economic, environmental and social goals

Viessmann sees sustainability as the intersection of economics, ecology and social commitment. This is confirmed by a number of solutions and projects - from innovative hydrogen-powered heating systems to international reforestation projects. Other ambitious goals that Viessmann is currently pursuing are reflected in the climate report published at the end of 2021. By 2050, we aim to achieve the goal of net zero emissions, both in our own operations and in the value chains of which Viessmann is a part.

Viessmann Corporate Film (2:30)

As a family enterprise, Viessmann places special importance on responsible activities with a forward-looking orientation, with stability being one of the fundamental principles of the enterprise. Stability in practical activities means for Viessmann the combination of economic and environmental aspects with social responsibility, so that meeting current needs does not negatively affect the living foundations of future generations.

Being a leader in environmental care and technological development of the industry, Viessmann has been developing and supplying environmentally clean and energy-efficient heating systems for decades, operating on liquid and gaseous fuels, as well as solar systems, wood-fired heating installations, and heat pumps. Many of Viessmann's developments are considered outstanding achievements in the development of heating technology.

Viessmann, producing a complete set of equipment, offers individual solutions and efficient systems in the power range from 1.5 to 120,000 kW for all areas of application and all energy carriers. These include wall-mounted condensing boilers with a capacity of 1.9 to 150 kW, floor-standing condensing devices with a capacity of 1.9 to 6000 kW, and modular block thermal power plants generating from 1.0 to 530 kW of electrical and from 5.3 to 660 kW of thermal energy. Modular block thermal power plants operating on natural and biogas are offered complete with a biogas supply contract.

Regenerative energy supply systems include thermal solar installations with flat and vacuum tube collectors for hot water preparation, heating support and building cooling, special water heating boilers and heating installations with a capacity of 4 kW to 50 MW for operating on logs, wood chips and wood pellet fuel, fuel pumps with a capacity of 1.7 to 2,000 kW for using heat from soil, groundwater or ambient air, as well as photovoltaic installations.

For autonomous heating networks and settlements with bioenergy fuel heating, Viessmann offers everything from a single source - from the initial feasibility analysis and detailed design, supply of all necessary equipment, including biogas installations, heat generators, modular block thermal power plants, geothermal pipelines and apartment heat substations, to the construction of the installation and its commissioning.

Producing a wide range of temperature-controlled chambers, high-efficiency refrigeration chambers and units, refrigeration equipment for food trade, as well as accessories and services, the Viessmann Group supplies consumers with all necessary refrigeration equipment.

For the supplied equipment, Viessmann provides a wide range of accompanying services. Thus, the Viessmann Academy offers heating system installation specialists, designers, architects, housing construction companies, chimney cleaning masters, technical educational institutions and its own employees a comprehensive training and professional development program. Thereby, the company responds to the growing need of its partners to obtain the necessary qualifications, due to structural changes in the heating technology market and the transition to efficient technologies and regenerative energy supply systems, as well as the associated expansion of the technological spectrum. Worldwide, 92,000 specialists participate annually in professional development events conducted by the Viessmann Academy.

The service offerings from Viessmann also include technical service support, demand-appropriate software packages, support through advertising and sales promotion, as well as a user-friendly ordering and information support system operating around the clock on the Internet.

For energy specialists

At the Viessmann Academy's online forums, leading energy specialists regularly meet for discussion and exchange of opinions. Since the first event in 2008 to the present, about 2,500 of our partner specialists in heating system installation and operation, as well as designers, architects and engineers have participated. This demonstrates the high demand for professional information covering political and technological aspects.

During seminars and conferences, well-known specialists in the fields of politics, science and heating technology share their knowledge and experience, demonstrate practical solutions and participate in discussions.

Viessmann Allendorf Stiftung Charitable Foundation: Awareness of responsibility

Viessmann is aware of its public and social responsibility. Following this principle in its activities, the enterprise takes an active part in the spheres of science, art, culture and social life. Six-figure sums are spent annually as donations to support relevant projects in Germany and internationally.

To create a unified base for such diverse initiatives and ensure their continuation in the future, the charitable foundation "Viessmann Allendorf Stiftung" was created. In August 2010, the district administration chairman Dr. Walter Lübke presented the foundation's charter to Dr. Martin Viessmann.
